Citizens Financial Group is stepping up the retail presence of Citizens Bank through a partnership with Sunoco gas stations.
Some 500 ATMs will be installed at Sunoco APlus Convenience Stores in 13 East Coast states, 108 of which will be in New York state.
There will be 15 ATMs installed in the lower and mid-Hudson Valley region, bringing the Citizens Bank ATM total to 3,200, an increase of 18 percent.
“At Citizens, we are committed to convenience and to helping our customers bank when, where and how they want,” said Vice Chairman Martin Bischoff, who heads consumer and business banking at Citizens. “We are very proud of this new partnership with Sunoco and EDC. This expansion will significantly increase the number of ATMs we offer our customers within our retail footprint.”
“We”™re always trying to expand convenience and this is an opportunity to do so,” said Christy Calicchia, a bank spokeswoman.
She called the Hudson Valley a “growing market for us.”
Calicchia said the ATM installations will begin in May and should be complete in June.
The ATMs will be operated by California-based service provider EDC.
Citizens Financial Group is headquartered in Providence, R.I., and operates more than 1,500 branches.
