White Plains-based nonprofit ArtsWestchester is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and is calling on the public to resurrect memories from the past five decades.
In an exhibition called “Through the Decades: Picturing 50 Years in Westchester,” the organization will feature submitted photos that fall into five categories: milestones in art and culture, economic development, the changing landscape, celebrity residents and shared tragedies.
Organizers with ArtsWestchester have asked that people submit no more than five photos that are from the last five decades and to caption them with their submission. The deadline for submitting photos is Aug. 7, and individuals whose pictures are chosen for the exhibit will be notified by Aug. 21. Submissions can be made at artswestchester.com.
The exhibit is scheduled to run from Oct. 5 to Nov. 21 at ArtWestchester”™s gallery on Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains.
