Hudson Valley Investment Advisors Inc., the Goshen-based subsidiary of Orange County Bancorp, has hired Gus Scacco to be its president and CEO.
Scacco will leave TigerShark Management, a hedge fund in New York City where he was chief operating officer and senior analyst, and succeed Thomas Guarino, who retired from HVIA last year.
“Gus is a competitor, who has succeeded everywhere he”™s been, and we saw that during the search process,” said Michael Gilfeather, president and CEO of Orange County Bancorp, in a statement. “When you can claim making it to spring training for a Major League Baseball club as Gus did with the Cincinnati Reds, you know you have someone who is willing to give it his all to succeed.”
Before delving into the banking world, Scacco attended Adelphi University, where he was recruited by the Reds. He later earned his master”™s degree from Hofstra University, and has previously worked for Chemical Banking, AllCap Growth Assessment Management and in Morgan Stanley”™s asset management division.
