The seventh annual Peekskill Jazz & Blues Festival will be held in downtown Peekskill
Friday, July 26, 8 p.m., and Saturday, July 27, noon.
The festival features free, open-air concerts on the streets of downtown Peekskill.
Crowds in past years have numbered in the thousands. Organizers note the festival is a 50-minute direct ride from Grand Central Terminal.
This year”™s festival includes a main stage outdoors, a secondary stage at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater, and a “Best of the Valley” series on Friday evening, featuring 10 local jazz and blues artists competing at 10 venues around town for a spot on the main stage. Attendees will decide the winner.
The festival is also a showcase for Peekskill. Organizers are urging: “Savor the diversity of local foods, quench your thirst with a craft beverage, peruse the unique arts and crafts of local artists, and learn why Peekskill is a leading destination to live, work or visit.”
