The Chamber Foundation Inc., the nonprofit education arm of the 106-year-old Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, has received a grant from Stewart”™s Holiday Match Program in support of the youth leadership program.
Stewart”™s Shops collected and matched donations from customers in their shops between Thanksgiving and Christmas last year, as it has every holiday season since 1986. This year, the chain is awarding $1,347,086 to local organizations within their shops”™ communities. No specific donation amount for the Dutchess youth program, which dates to 2002, had been set as of April 2.
The Stewart”™s Holiday Match program will be used to support Youth Leadership, an after-school program designed to develop the leadership and life skills of area high school students.
The Youth Leadership program is open to any high school student in Dutchess County and applications for the class of 2013-14 are now open. For more information, visit www.ChamberFDN.org.
