Sacred Heart University will launch a new film and television master’s degree program next fall.
A sister program to the university’s communications master’s degree, the degree will provide students hands-on technical skills to enter the film and TV industries. The program will have a heavy emphasis on work outside of the classroom, providing students opportunities to work in the professional film and television industry in Connecticut.
“They learn to develop projects, work with real budgets and collaborate in the service of actual clients,” said Damon Maulucci, a visiting professor for the program, in a press release. “This directly informs their experience, allowing them to shape their own personal career goals toward a practical launch into the marketplace.”
The program is scheduled to arrive roughly one year after the University of Connecticut’s new digital media center and similar degree programs.
