First Niagara Bank yesterday unveiled a student checking account option aimed at tapping into the college demographic.
The StudentFirst Checking account includes no minimum balance requirement, no monthly maintenance fees, no ATM fees from First Niagara, and debit card rewards.
The bank will also rebate up to five ATM surcharges imposed by other banks each month.
First Niagara, based in Buffalo and a subsidiary of First Niagara Financial Group Inc., has more than two dozen Hudson Valley branches and several Fairfield County, Conn., branches following the acquisition of more than 100 former HSBC Bank USA branches.
