A BAE Systems plant in Yonkers has been awarded a $28 million contract to produce radar warning receivers for use on the U.S. Air Force”™s C-130 workhorse airplane.
The AN/ALR 56M system is designed to detect tracking radars used by enemy ground, ship or airborne weapons systems.
BAE Systems Information and Electronics is furnishing the systems for installation on C-130 Hercules planes that are used for a range of purposes. Its system is also used on F-15 fighter jets used by the U.S. Air Force.
BAE is based in Britain and has its U.S. headquarters in Rockville, Md.
