China Southern Airlines Co. did not detail what it paid for the large Sikorsky S-92 and two mid-sized S-76 helicopters. Based on previous sales data, the deal may have been worth more than $20 million.
Bahrain”™s purchase of an S-92 comes months after the kingdom sought U.S. permission to purchase nine Black Hawk helicopters from Sikorsky.
Separately, a former Department of Defense engineer who worked at Sikorsky”™s Stratford headquarters pleaded guilty to lying about her contact with a foreign government official.
Federal prosecutors say Norwalk resident Beatrice C. Ruiz, 56, maintained a social and business relationship with an official of the Colombian consulate in New York City; but that there was no evidence she disclosed classified information or undermined U.S. security.
