Goosefeather in Tarrytown is a modern Cantonese restaurant, so the lunar new year is always a big deal there. Goosefeather celebrates the Year of the Dragon Saturday, Feb. 10, (when the lunar new year actually begins), through Saturday, Feb. 17, with special offerings for guests, including a nightly lobster special, red envelopes with giveaways and “lucky” Satsuma oranges for guests to take home. While the red envelopes traditionally hold money and are given to friends and family but especially children, those at Goosefeather may include prizes such as dinner for two at the restaurant, complimentary food and beverage items, a signed copy of chef Dale Talde’s “Asian American” cookbook and more.
It’s a busy month for the restaurant as it will provide the food stations for the black-tie Sweethearts Ball at the Biddle Mansion at Tarrytown House Estate on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. The evening features jazz band La Vie En Rose, a performance by Ambient Aerial Pieces and the beats of DJ Reason. Tickets are $225 per person.
Then on Valentine’s Day – Wednesday, Feb. 14 – Goosefeather will have a special three-course prix-fixe menu ($115 per person).
