The 300 attorneys in the five offices of Day Pitney L.L.P. might find themselves working as needed intracompany in Day Pitney offices in Boston, Manhattan, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., or, until recently, at 1 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich.
A cross-town move by the Greenwich office to a remade Victorian mansion at 24 Field Point Road could well mean an uptick in requests to work there in particular.
Day Pitney attorney Lorraine Slavin toured the wood-paneled office and said, “A few
attorneys were here ”“ senior professionals ”“ and they said these were the most beautiful law offices in Greenwich.”
In a nod to history, the conference rooms bear notable local names ”“ Bruce, Tod, Binney and Mead ”“ along with ample stained glass.
The 1940 onetime home is owned by investment firm Lloyd-Hascoe Associates Inc., which formerly had offices there. The Hascoe name across the front will soon be replaced by Day Pitney. The back was added in 1992. Day Pitney moved in “as is” and the flying witch weather vane that is something of a landmark flies uninterrupted.
Slavin toured the offices with fellow attorney Amy Wilfert. Each in turn opened hidden panels to reveal everything from a computerized White Board to a bathroom. The woodwork earned special praise from both, as did the stained glass. More practically, they liked their new, better proximity to Greenwich Town Hall with its real estate records and Probate Court and to the train station for easy employee and client transportation.
The other tenant in the building is Hollywood Pop Gallery, a party and event-planning company.
