Playland”¯will host a special Juneteenth celebration today ”“ Monday, June 19 ”“ with the Art Deco amusement park, typically closed on Mondays throughout the season, featuring a variety of artists, musicians and dancers. Performances will include Motown doo-wop songs, a children”™s West African dance workshop and the culminating drum and dance circles of”¯Bokandeye African American Dance Theater.
Playland Beach and the new pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The park will open at noon, with fireworks starting at 9 p.m.
