Curtis Instruments, the maker of motor speed control and battery measurement and related electric vehicle technology, has had its worldwide headquarters in Mount Kisco since it was founded in 1960.
This year has been stellar in sales for the company, said Frank Matheis, director of marketing communications.
“We broke a new sales record of $127 million,” Matheis said. “We work on a worldwide basis and have been a major contributor to a new wheel chair vehicle control system used by leading wheel chair manufacturers, we make the components that drive them.”
Matheis said Curtis”™ 145 employees contribute greatly to the Mount Kisco economy.
“We are employing people throughout Westchester, Fairfield and Dutchess and we bring our business to this town: from buying gas to doing laundry and eating in their restaurants for lunch,” Matheis said. “We”™re an integral part of the village economy.”
In addition to the economic contributions, Matheis said Curtis is also active in many charities, and have made generous donations to numerous organizations. The company also invests much time with charities such as Ability Beyond Disability and the Boys and Girls Club.
