ConnexCares, the philanthropic arm of the Connex Credit Union, recently donated $2,000 to the Connecticut Children”™s Medical Center in Hartford. The funds were raised as part of Miracle Jeans Day, a national campaign sponsored by Credit Unions for Kids. It raises funds to help Children”™s Miracle Network hospitals across the country obtain life-saving equipment and perform breakthrough research.
Any Connex employee who donated five or more dollars was permitted to wear jeans to work for one day. Anyone exceeding $25 also received a commemorative T-shirt. Additionally, Connex collected member donations and matched the total contributions up to $1,000 resulting in the total donation of $2,000.
“Improving our surrounding communities is one of the core values Connex is built upon and it made me incredibly proud to witness the selfless efforts put forth by both our employees and members to support Connecticut Children”™s Medical Center,” said Carl Casper, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Connex Credit Union.
