For adults over the age of 50 who want to open their own business, a new series of classes is available at Westchester Community College (WCC) to assist the process.
The college’s Mainstream, The Institute for Mature Adults is offering fourteen sessions in  small business training beginning Feb. 21.
As an increasing number of older workers look for opportunities to become entrepreneurs, many need guidance. The school intends to address that need with sessions on developing and refining a business plan, marketing and access to capital courses, computer training, and special resources for mature business owners.
The program is geared toward those who need assistance to get started and for owners wanting to expand their enterprise. The course meets on Thursday evenings at WCC’s Valhalla campus from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The program costs $413 plus the price of a textbook.
