The Dutch Ale House, a Saugerties-based gastropub, announced it is shutting down until the spring due to the continued public health concerns related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The establishment published a statement on its website acknowledging that it “certainly faced unprecedented challenges and we have all muddled through these tough times. Unfortunately we still have a rough road ahead, and with that and everyone’s safety in mind, we have decided to temporarily close the Dutch starting next week until spring.”
The statement did not offer a specific opening date, but added that the gastropub”™s sister company, the retailer Windmill Wine & Spirits, will remain open during this time.
The temporary closing of the Dutch Ale House follows the news that two popular Hudson Valley breweries, Brewster”™s Bull & Barrel Brewery and the Pine Island Brewing Co., have permanently closed their respective operations amid the ongoing pandemic.
