Since its founding in 1986 in Larchmont, the employee-management firm TimeLink has grown steadily to the point it now has 100 employees between its offices in Westchester and in Germany.
When the company outgrew its headquarters and needed to move to a bigger space, it considered several locations, including Stamford and Greenwich in Connecticut, and even Dallas.
“But we really wanted to stay in Westchester,” said Leslie Chang, director of corporate development for TimeLink. “It had served us well as a location. It”™s very centrally located for our employees, many of whom come from Manhattan, Long Island and Fairfield.”
So, with a little help from the Westchester Industrial Development Agency (IDA), the company in July moved into a new office at 2975 Westchester Avenue in Purchase, and hopes to stay in Westchester for the foreseeable future.
TimeLink is a provider of “enterprise work-force management,” which includes developing software for tracking employee time and attendance. The company”™s Germany operation also manufactures time clocks.
“We”™re a single-source provider of a whole slew of anything needed of employees,” Chang said.
Chang said the company”™s new Purchase digs are about double the size of its previous headquarters.
The company received a sales-tax exemption through the Westchester IDA as an incentive to keep its offices in Westchester County. TimeLink saved the 7.375 percent sales tax on all the furniture, accessories, computers and software it purchased in conjunction with the move.
TimeLink needed to expand largely due to the “rapid growth over the last two years” the company has experienced, said Chang.
“We”™ve had some rather large global clients come on, Fortune 500 companies,” she said.
Some of Timelink”™s more notable clients include Hertz and the Canadian post office.
Since the company now deals with some high-profile international businesses, staying in Westchester was also a priority due to its proximity to Manhattan. The new building is large enough to handle to amount of freight the company has coming in and out each day, Chang said.
“We did a long, extensive search, and we finally decided this location was our favorite,” she said.
Also, during the time of its expansion, TimeLink employees donated time to partner with Habitat for Humanity and spent the day the company was moving from one office to another to refurbish Westchester homes damaged by the severe flooding the region experienced in April.
“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our own success than to dedicate our own skills and capabilities to this philanthropic organization,” said Edward Rizzo Jr., CEO and president of TimeLink.
