The former site of Norwalk’s historic Palace Theater has been sold for $2.3 million.
The theater opened in 1914 as a 1,149-seat vaudeville venue and attracted major headliners including Enrico Caruso, Harry Houdini and W.C. Fields. It was later converted into a movie theater before closing in 1966. It was purchased in 1975 by Russell Fratto as the home of his ballet company, but after the 1980-81 season it closed again. Palace Production Center leased the building in 1983 and bought it in 1985, and it has been used for film and video productions and photo shoots.
Silvester Garza and David Fugitt of Vidal/Wettenstein, LLC completed the sale of 29 North Main St. site and Ryan Casey of Servant Connecticut represented the buyer in this transaction, Kingdom Full Tabernacle International Ministries.
