Affiliates of Montefiore Health System this fall paid approximately $38.6 million for the New Rochelle hospital, nursing home and housing properties acquired from the bankrupt Sound Shore Health System, according to deed filings at the Westchester County Clerk”™s Office.
The Bronx-based hospital paid $25,353,900 for Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester, since renamed Montefiore New Rochelle. Montefiore paid $10,060,458 for Sound Shore”™s nursing home facility, Schaffer Extended Care Center, and $3,214,727 for the Sound Shore housing complex at 5-29 Glover Johnson Place in New Rochelle.
