Save the Children U.S. has named Janti Soeripto as its new CEO. She will take her new position on Jan. 1 and succeed Carolyn Miles, who served the past eight years as the Fairfield-based nonprofit”™s chief executive.
Soeripto, has served as president and chief operating officer of the organization since June, and she will retain the president’s job while becoming a member of the board of directors. She was formerly the deputy chief executive officer and COO of Save the Children International in London. Earlier in her career, she was a managing director at Kimberly Clark in Indonesia.
“It is a remarkable privilege to have the opportunity to lead Save the Children U.S.,” Soeripto said. “Over the past eight years, the organization has doubled its impact, bringing its lifesaving programs to millions more children around the world. This is in large part due to Carolyn”™s commitment and dynamic guidance. I look forward to continuing the incredible work she has championed to ensure every child gets the chance they deserve.”
