Former Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) Chairman Bob Vail, of Vail Buick GMC in Bedford Hills, has been elected to the National Automobile Dealers Association”™s (NADA) Executive Committee as vice chairman, Region I. A third generation auto dealer, Vail has been representing metro New York on NADA”™s Board since 2017 and is an active member of NADA”™s industry relations and regulatory affairs committees involving federal dealer issues.
Vail is now responsible for bringing together industry leaders throughout Eastern United States, to speak with a strong collective voice.
“What happens on the national level has a direct and immediate impact on our businesses here in New York,” Vail said. “Being a part of the NADA Executive Committee, I will be able to elevate the specific concerns of GNYADA members, to ensure our common goals are addressed in Washington.”
The Vail family has been in the auto industry since 1918, when Vail”™s grandfather first opened a Chevrolet dealership in Ossining. Vail entered the family business in the ”˜60s, starting as a mechanic at a Studebaker dealership owned by his father and brother. Today, he carries on the family business tradition ”” his son Greg is his business partner at their dealership in Bedford Hills, Westchester.
