The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), headquartered in Westchester County, recently announced that it have raised more than $1.19 million to help underserved pets across the country, including for injured and abandoned pets in the Southeast impacted by hurricanes and other disasters. The money raised during the month of October was a result of VEG Cares Share Day and other fundraising efforts, including a 5K family event.
“We are thrilled to be able to help underserved pets in communities across the country, including those impacted by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast,” said Dr. David Bessler, founder and CEO for VEG. “I am also personally proud to see hundreds of VEGgies come together to make a difference on causes they are passionate about.”
VEG Cares Share Day was held on Oct. 17 with more than 85 VEG locations participating in the fundraising event. On VEG Cares Share Day, 100% of all proceeds from participating VEG locations go to charity.
