United Hebrew has been named one of America’s Best Nursing Homes for 2026 by “Newsweek.” For a fifth consecutive year, United Hebrew is placed among the top-ranked long-term care facilities in New York state and one of only four to make the list from Westchester County.
When a health crisis occurs or an aging parent cannot be cared for at home any longer, it’s no wonder why families often feel confused or uneasy about where to transition their loved one for long-term care. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, there are more than 15,000 Medicare- or Medicaid-certified nursing homes in the United States and 600 are in the state of New York.
With so many options available, narrowing the field can feel daunting. Newsweek’s annual ranking recognizes the nation’s top 1,200 nursing homes based on performance data, peer recommendations, accreditations and resident satisfaction. This year’s methodology placed greater emphasis on clinical quality measures and introduced vaccination rates as a new metric, underscoring the importance of safety and medical excellence in long-term care. United Hebrew’s inclusion on the list reflects its longstanding commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care that enhances the health, dignity and well-being of older adults across Westchester County and beyond.
