
Burke Rehabilitation®, a leading provider of advanced physical and medical rehabilitation and member of the Montefiore Health System, has appointed Lisa Feiner, MBA, M.Ed., NBC-HWC, Jason Perla, and Michael J. Smith, CPA, CFA, to its Board of Trustees. The new board members bring their expertise and leadership to advise the nationally recognized and accredited, not-for-profit health-care organization.
“Our Board of Trustees plays an integral role in guiding the organization’s continued growth and success – their combined breadth of experience supports the continued excellence and strategic growth of the organization,” said Burke Rehabilitation Executive Director Scott Edelman, MBA, CPA, CFE. “Lisa, Jason, and Michael each bring exceptional leadership experience and a deep commitment to community. Their diverse expertise across health care, real estate, finance and public service will further strengthen our distinguished group of Board members.”
A board-certified health and wellness coach and co-founder of Sharp Again, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting cognitive health, Feiner brings deep insight to health-care systems and a strong commitment to community well-being. Perla, head of Newmark’s New York Consulting Group, brings first-hand experience as a former Burke patient, coupled with over two decades of expertise in commercial real estate strategy and transaction advisory, offering valuable perspective as Burke expands its geographic footprint and outpatient network. Smith possesses more than 30 years of executive leadership across nonprofit, higher education and public service sectors, including his tenure as president and CEO of Berkeley College and service as a Westchester County legislator.

The board plays a central role in shaping the organization’s long-term vision, with particular emphasis on strengthening its commitment to expert rehabilitation care, pioneering clinical research and graduate medical education excellence.
