White Plains Hospital has been named to “Fortune” and global people analytics firm Great Place to Work’s 2024 list of Best Workplaces in New York™. This is the second year in a row that the hospital has been named to the prestigious list.
White Plains Hospital became eligible for the honor following its designation as a “Great Place to Work” in 2023, a recognition it has received multiple times for exceeding national benchmarks for employee satisfaction. White Plains Hospital is one of just two hospitals in New York and one of only 24 large companies (1,000+ employees) with headquarters in New York state to be recognized.
To determine the Fortune Best Workplaces in New York List, Great Place to Work collected nearly 140,000 confidential survey responses from employees at Great Place to Work-certified companies. Hospital employees from all departments and job functions were asked to complete a survey that includes questions on leadership effectiveness, respect, fairness and employee pride in the community. White Plains Hospital scored significantly above the benchmark required to be certified as a Best Workplace.

White Plains Hospital is a pmember of the Montefiore Health System, serving as its tertiary hub of advanced care in the Hudson Valley. A 292-bed not-for-profit health-care organization White Plains Hospital’s primary mission is to provide exceptional acute and preventive medical care to all people who live in, work in or visit Westchester County and its surrounding areas. Its outpatient medical facilities across Westchester include multispecialty practices in Armonk, Hawthorne, Larchmont, New Rochelle, Rye Brook, Somers, Yonkers and Yorktown Heights; and Scarsdale Medical Group locations in Harrison and Scarsdale.
The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and in 2023, it received another 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services— the highest distinction offered by that federal agency for the second consecutive year. In addition, the hospital received its third Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a distinction held by only 2% of hospitals in the country. In 2024, White Plains Hospital was awarded an “A” Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group for the 11th consecutive time.
