At its 38th annual Spring Ball, April 6, Good Samaritan Hospital paid tribute to two outstanding community leaders: Scott G. Luchs, M.D., president of the medical staff and director of radiology and interventional radiology and Aurelius J. “Aury” Licata, the founder of Licata Management, a well-respected insurance agency in Suffern and a 30-year member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation Board.
This year’s Spring Ball was held at the Edgewood Country Club in River Vale, New Jersey. Proceeds will benefit Advanced Cardiac Services at Good Samaritan Hospital.
For decades, Luchs has served in pivotal roles at the hospital leading committees and championing initiatives that strengthen health care in the Rockland and Orange County communities. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University, followed by a Master of Medical Sciences degree in microbiology and a Doctor of Medicine degree at Boston University. His training included a surgical internship at Montefiore Medical Center, a residency in diagnostic radiology at Norwalk Hospital/Yale University and a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Boston University. In addition to his clinical leadership, Luchs holds a teaching appointment at New York Medical College.

For more than 30 years, Aury has been a cornerstone of Good Samaritan Hospital’s Foundation Board. He has championed the growth of planned giving, inspired others to join and set an example of steadfast support for the hospital’s mission. His impact reaches beyond the hospital through his active involvement with organizations such as the Rockland Community Foundation, the Diabetes Foundation and UNICO. Or call 914.493.2575.
