Stepinac High School in White Plains recently commemorated more than 75 years of “Grounded and Growing,” the theme of its inaugural Spring Celebration at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York.
More than 300 guests, including parents, alumni, students, members of the administration, faculty and staff and supporters of the renowned all-boys Catholic high school joined in the festive fund-raising event.
Three benefactors who contributed significantly through the years to the school’s growth were honored. They include Patricia Murphy, a member of Stepinac’s faculty for more than 25 years; Carla Noletti Petrillo, alumni mother (Class of ’18); and Daniel McLaughlin, an alumnus (Class of ’75). Rev. Thomas Collins (Class of ’79), president, led the guests in prayer, giving thanks to Stepinac’s many blessings, including the honorees whose commitment and generosity have helped Stepinac to become a leader in shaping men for success at college, at work and in life.
The mission of Archbishop Stepinac High School is to offer young men of the Archdiocese of New York a highly competitive academic and extracurricular program that will prepare them for college and leadership roles. The faculty and staff accomplish these objectives by pursuing excellence and creating a supportive, disciplined atmosphere with a strong sense of camaraderie and Christian values that is unique to the Stepinac experience.
