Of the 14,858 nursing homes evaluated by Newsweek, only 1,050 were named as one of “America’s Best.” In New York state, where more than 600 facilities operate, only 69 received the recognition. These rankings, performed by Statista, rely on rigorous performance measures such as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data based on health inspections, staffing, quality, reputation, accreditation and resident satisfaction scores.
U.S. News & World Report rated more than 15,000 nursing homes throughout the country. U.S. News & World Report assesses facilities with separate evaluations for short-term rehabilitation and long-term care; only 19% of nursing homes in either category achieved a “High Performing” rating.
