ITT Corp. President and CEO Denise Ramos was last week named to STEMconnector”™s inaugural “Top 100 Women Leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math” rankings.
STEMconnector is a national organization that serves as a resource and information clearinghouse for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields ”“ industries regularly cited by economists as being the fastest-growing areas of the U.S. economy today.
The inaugural rankings are designed to showcase women in the corporate, government and nonprofit sectors for their support of STEM initiatives.
Ramos said in a statement that ITT values “the strategic thinking, problem solving and technological capabilities that STEM encourages,” adding that “these skills will be critical assets for all of us as we navigate our increasingly technological future.”
Ramos was named CEO and president of the White Plains manufacturing company last year, following the completion of ITT”™s corporate spinoff that resulted in the formation of two new companies, ITT Exelis and Xylem Inc.
Prior to being named top executive of ITT, Ramos served as the company”™s senior vice president and CFO.
