WEST HARTFORD – Americasa, a division of Nationwide Mortgage Bankers (NMB), has opened its newest branch office on Farmington Avenue here.
Americasa is committed to home finance education, homeownership access, and community support for Hispanic families that have traditionally been underrepresented in homebuying markets. The new Connecticut branch will add to the homeownership guidance and mortgage solutions.
The new facility is located just off I-84 at 998 Farmington Ave., a main thoroughfare cutting through the heart of West Hartford. According to the U.S. Census, 44.5 percent of the population in and around Hartford is of either Hispanic or Latino descent.
“Metro-Hartford and the Connecticut River Valley is so perfectly located and a natural fit for our expansion in New England,” said Yasser Valdés Herrera, Americasa vice president. “As Americasa continues to expand our banking footprint and incorporate our homebuying and financial solutions, our banking professionals are opening doors for Hispanic families to achieve their dream of having a place to call home.”
The office will be led by Branch Manager Wanda Cassarino, a veteran mortgage banking professional who has served the Hartford area for more than 30 years.
“Americasa planting its flag here in the Hartford shows our deep commitment towards engaging, supporting, empowering, and educating Hispanic families as they work toward owning a home,” said Cassarino, who served as director of the Hartford region for Neighborhood Assistance Corp. of America, a HUD-certified counseling agency and non-profit, for nearly 16 years.
Americasa focuses on personalized mortgage guidance, financial education, and support for clients with unique credit, income, or documentation situations. Available loan programs such as down payment assistance programs, individualized taxpayer identification number mortgage options, foreign national loans and non-qualified mortgage loan programs help clients navigate home financing when traditional mortgage options may not be fully tailored to their needs.
“Consumers across the Hartford and Connecticut River Valley Region will love the deep financial insights that Wanda Cassarino and her team bring to this housing market, and we are excited for her to lead our mortgage team taking shape in New England,” Michael Brennan, NMB president. “Thanks to the success of our hardworking leadership and mortgage teams in the field, Americasa is providing customers with the greater opportunity, resources, and knowledge necessary to finance the home of their dreams and begin the process of developing generational wealth to which homeownership is an important gateway.”
