For the first time, the state has created an online tool allowing people to check if a business operating in Connecticut carries workers”™ compensation insurance for its employees.
The data is maintained by the National Council on Compensation Insurance, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based organization that maintains data and makes recommendations on rates.
The new Connecticut online database includes companies that have obtained approval from the Connecticut Workers Compensation Commission to self-insure their liabilities.
The tool can be accessed at wcc.state.ct.us.
