Nonprofits can register until Friday to be eligible to receive donations through Give Local Westchester & Putnam, a 24-hour fundraising event.
United Way of Westchester and Putnam is running the event, which is designed to raise as much money as possible from May 5 to 6, noon to noon, for local nonprofits.
Local businesses can join the event by becoming sponsors, donating prizes or promoting the day to employees. Business can adopt an hour, a cause or align their business with a county.
Give Local Westchester & Putnam is part of a larger fundraising day taking place in more than 100 regions in the U.S. in partnership with Give Local America. Last year”™s event raised more than $53 million nationally, according to a press release from United Way.
