It took seven years for the Stack family to get the boutique hotel it conceptualized on paper to become the beautiful brick and mortar building now standing adjacent to its Victorian-style catering facility, The Inn at Catlin Gardens.
The Slate Hill location for the catering hall was beautiful, but a place to stay where guests could enjoy top-shelf amenities that was within reasonable driving distance did not exist anywhere near the catering hall. That”™s when the Stacks took their drawings and financial plans to Provident Bank, which undertook the loan to make the Inn at Catlin Gardens a reality.
Since it opened in the summer, the Stacks say it has become a “dream come true for every bridal party that has checked out our facility and wants to hold an event here. Now that we have a hotel right on the grounds, it”™s made it possible for the wedding party and guests to have a place to stay without having to get in a car and drive for an hour.”
While the hotel is a perfect pairing for weddings and special weekend getaways for couples, it also offers down-to-business services for the corporate community: four breakout rooms, dedicated tables for exhibits and conferencing, audio-visual support including wireless Internet and on-site catering.
“We wanted to offer the best of both to our private event guests and to our corporate clients,” Stephanie Stack said. “We have many business functions here ”“ mixers, fundraisers and parties, but we did not have any dedicated meeting space or an off-site place for a business to bring its members to and accommodate them overnight. Now that the hotel has opened, we can offer both catering and hotel amenities to our business community.”
And no expense was spared in making Catlin Gardens Inn a standout. From its elaborate wrought iron doors that open to a rotunda of Victorian charm, it offers an authentic Irish pub room where luncheons can be held.  “It”™s hard to believe it”™s really happened,” said Stack, touring the hotel rooms. Each room has been tastefully decorated and offers every amenity a first-class hotel offers.
And naturally, the Stacks, who turned their grandmother”™s Victorian home into a first-class catering facility, complete with the gardens that surround it, hope the hotel will be a magnet for corporate business looking for an exceptional space to meet, greet and eat. “We”™ve kept the business community in mind when designing this,” said Stack. “Even though business has scaled back off-site meetings these days, I think they”™ll be pleasantly surprised by our rates and by the service and style we offer.”
