Loss of contract leads to bus driver layoffs

Wile E. Coyote might have to use a different bus company next time he”™s in Middletown.

The Acme Bus Corp. recently lost a five-year contract with Orange County to provide transportation for a special needs preschool children”™s program that expires on June 30.

The Long Island-based bus company announced it is laying off all 165 bus drivers in June. Acme said it intends to bid on the contract again.
