SUNY Orange in Newburgh and the Women”™s Enterprise Development Center this winter will offer a 60-hour training program to help entrepreneurs start or grow their business.
Evening classes will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 2, and continue twice a week through late April, the partners said. Classes will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday on the Newburgh campus of SUNY Orange at 1 Washington Center.
Offered in conjunction with the college”™s Continuing and Professional Education department, the entrepreneurship program costs $200 per student.
WEDC officials said the comprehensive course will help entrepreneurs get focused, set agendas and take the next step to move their businesses forward. Key topics covered include legal business structures, business management skills, understanding financial statements, cash flow and budgeting, market research, social media and traditional marketing, technology for business, and business presentation skills.
Entrepreneurs in the course will write a business plan and present it to a small panel of representatives from the business community.
