A $10,000 grant from The Roy M. and Frances K. Anderson Fund Inc. will support professional education at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston.
The contribution to The Benedictine Health Foundation will help fund orthopedic nursing education and training programs.
Barbara Klassen, executive director of the Benedictine Health Foundation, said “the grant will help provide advanced nursing education and training in the introduction of new orthopedic techniques, technology and equipment for our nurses to administer quality care as we expand our orthopedic services at Benedictine Hospital.”
In a move toward providing specialized services such as sports medicine, joint replacement, orthopedic oncology, musculoskeletal specialties, spine surgery and arthroscopic surgery; Benedictine Hospital recently formed a partnership with Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County. The six-location practice provides orthopedic care to four hospitals in addition to Benedictine: Vassar Brothers Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital, Northern Dutchess Hospital and Kingston Hospital.
