CareMount Medical, formerly The Mount Kisco Medical Group, has appointed Dr. Robert Newborn to the positions of deputy chief medical officer and chief quality officer.
CareMount is a multispecialty group practice serving Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Columbia and Ulster counties. The group changed its name in February.  It employs more than 500 physicians in 40 different medical specialties with major campuses in Mount Kisco, Carmel, Katonah, Fishkill, Jefferson Valley, Poughkeepsie and Rhinebeck.
In the new position, Newborn will assist Thomas Lester, CareMount”™s chief medical officer, in managing the medical aspects of the organization.
Newborn was previously vice president of medical services at Phelps Memorial Hospital and Northern Westchester Hospital, both part of Northwell Health. Newborn has clinical experience in primary care, hospital and observation medicine, and urgent care and emergency medicine. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College.
