If you”™ve ever attended a business function, seminar or after-hours networking event, you have had to deal with “them;” those pesky name tags that always end up in the trash at the end of the night.
But now a new product may appeal to those who hate to waste.
Among the exhibitors at the Rockland Business Association”™s Business Expo at the Marriott Hotel in Park Ridge, N.J. last month was Badgetec, a startup company based in Suffern that has found a solution for name tag phobia. Exhibitors had the opportunity to try Badgetec”™s product at the annual trade show.
The company”™s new tag is environmentally friendly. They are made from die cut sheets of strong tag stock that are attached directly to an individual”™s clothing with an entirely new type of polypropylene clip Badgetec has dubbed the “contour clip” since there are no rough edges and it”™s springless. It is also reusable.
Just like traditional clip-on badges, Badgetec”™s product is made on sheets that can be inkjet or laser printed. As an added bonus, the card can swivel as it hangs from the new type of clip created for its use and remains level for appearance and reading ease.
The recyclable name badge is about half the cost of conventional name badges, according to the company. If Badgetec gets the business community”™s attention, it has the potential to eliminate millions of pounds of PVC from the air and environment by replacing traditional name tags ”“ and become another success story in the Hudson Valley.
Badgetec was one of nearly 100 businesses that participated in the RBA”™s yearly expo. To learn more about the recyclable badges and the new startup or to receive a free product sample, contact jody@badgeteconline.com
