The U.S. Small Business Administration is recruiting business owners for emerging leaders training.
“It”™s kind of like CEO training,” said SBA spokesman John Mallano.
Thirty business owners will be selected for the 7-month executive entrepreneurship program. Participants will discuss strategies to build their companies and create jobs, according to Beth Goldberg, SBA district director. The program will provide small business owners with the opportunity to work with mentors and make business connections.
Business owners must have at least 1Â employee, $400,000 in gross sales and 3Â years of operations.
The classes will be held at two locations: 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan and Farmingdale State College on Long Island. The business owners will spend 100 hours in the classroom in the evenings. The program will begin in April but the exact time and hours have not been determined yet.
The deadline for applying is Sunday, Feb. 28. See www.sba.gov/emergingleaders for more details.
