The Business Council of Westchester will partner with Marist Institute for Public Opinion to conduct a survey that measures what issues matter to Westchester residents in the Westchester County executive race.
The Marist Poll, founded in 1978, will announce results of the poll at the county executive debate hosted by the Business Council on Oct. 2 in White Plains. The institute, based in Poughkeepsie, measures public opinion at the local, state and national level.
This will be the first debate between Republican incumbent County Executive Robert Astorino and Democratic challenger and New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson.
Business Council President and CEO Marsha Gordon believes this survey will help keep track of what issues are most important to the community.
“This partnership provides the Business Council with the resources and talent of one of the nation’s leading polling organizations,” Gordon said.” We look forward to working with Lee Miringoff in identifying the issues and trends of vital importance to the Westchester community.
Lee Miringoff, director of the institute, will moderate the debate. Miringoff received a Ph.D in political science at MIT and serves on the Political Science faculty at Marist College. He frequently provides commentary as a political analyst for print, radio and television on politics and elections.
