Ahead of the 60th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, New York City’s Paley Center for Media is partnering with The History Channel to present the new PaleyImpact event “Camelot 60 Years Later: The Legacy of John F. Kennedy, America’s First ‘Television President.’”
The event features a screening of an episode of the new eight-part series “Kennedy” that focuses on two critical issues of his presidency: the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Civil Rights movement. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on Kennedy transformed televised press conferences into a platform to directly address the American public.
“We are thrilled to announce our upcoming PaleyImpact event highlighting The History Channel’s exceptional docuseries exploring the life of President John F. Kennedy and his pioneering work in television,” said Maureen Reidy, president and CEO of The Paley Center for Media. “President Kennedy’s impact on the medium of television and American society, as a whole, is as important today as it’s ever been and we’re proud to be hosting this event.”
The event will take place on Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m., with a reception at 5:30 p.m. at The Paley Museum, located at 25 West 52 Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. More information and ticket sales are available on the Paley Center website. paleycenter.org.
