The city of New Rochelle recently announced it is seeking proposals from technology experts to develop real-time, location-based information tools for residents, visitors and businesses in the city.
According to a news release, the city is looking to work with local experts to develop tools and apps to help manage and promote traffic updates, parking efficiency, news updates and tourism in New Rochelle. The city also is looking to provide links to emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance departments. The news release said proposals that incorporate advertising revenue are also welcome.
The city said it hoped the new technology could support downtown revitalization, promote small businesses, enable an emergency system network and create a public-private partnership.
Proposals, which are due by 3 p.m. June 3, can be sent to the city’s purchasing office.
White Plains earlier this month introduced ParkWhitePlains, a parking app that allows drivers to pay for parking in the city’s municipal lots and garages from their cellphones.
