Av Harris, who has served as Bridgeport”™s legislative liaison with the state government for the last two years, is leaving Mayor Joe Ganim”™s administration for a new role in Gov. Ned
Lamont”™s administration as director of communications and legislative affairs for the Department of Public Health.
Harris came to Bridgeport in January 2016 as director of communications and became the city”™s director of public affairs and public policy one year later. Prior to that, he was director of communications for the Connecticut Secretary of the State and had previously worked as a radio reporter for Hartford-based WNPR.
“Bridgeport is a terrific city that has unlimited potential,” said Harris. “I will continue to admire the progress being made to revitalize Bridgeport and the entire regional economy from afar; and I am glad I was able to play a small part in this success story.”
