A TGI Fridays restaurant opened in downtown White Plains on Jan. 8. The restaurant, a franchise of the TGI Fridays chain that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is on the east side of City Center at 250 Main St.
“White Plains is the perfect community for our newest location,” said Kris Swenson, the bar manager for TGI Fridays in White Plains, in a press release announcing the restaurant”™s opening. “It”™s a young, social and growing area, and Fridays”™ energetic vibe, fun team members, great food and hand-crafted cocktails are the perfect fit for our new Westchester County neighborhood.”
The new restaurant hired 150 people from the White Plains area, according to the press release. TGI Fridays officials said the restaurant reflects the chain’s new design concept, which aims to create a lively atmosphere with the bar as the focal point of the restaurant.
As part of the grand opening, TGI Fridays will offer a celebratory “Dine and Drink for $10” promotion through Jan. 25. Guests can choose from a selection of entrees, including lower-calorie options, paired with a beverage, including cocktails or domestic drafts for $10.
