Fairfield”™s Shearwater Coffee Bar has announced plans to open its second location at 833 Post Road in Westport.
No official opening date has been set for the new coffee shop, which is sharing a mixed-use commercial property with the Ignazio”™s pizzeria and One River Westport art school. Shearwater opened its first location two years ago at The Brick Walk shopping plaza in Fairfield.
In 2013, company owner Ed Freedman launched Shearwater Organic Coffee Roasters in Trumbull, Fairfield County”™s only USDA-certified Organic and Fair Trade coffee roaster, and his product line has been available in restaurants and coffee shops across Connecticut and on the shelves of Whole Foods and several independent grocery stores.
“We are looking to create an atmosphere that is intimate for more information exchange,” Freedman said in a June 2017 interview with the Fairfield County Business Journal. “Unlike most coffee shops, where you get in line and they put your name on a cup and you”™re then on your way, we want you to come in and spend time with us, talk to us about coffee.”
