Yale University is inviting businesses and nonprofit organizations to apply for free short-term consulting from MBA students at the Yale School of Management.
Yale”™s MBA program is the top-rated in Connecticut, according to BusinessWeek, and numbers among the 20 best in the country.
The New Haven school is pairing second-year MBA students for consulting assignments, under the supervision of professors.
The program will enroll up to five small- or mid-sized businesses located between Hartford and New York City that need help with specific problems or projects during the fall semester. Startups are not eligible for assistance.
“We are not including start-up firms because we want our students to come face-to-face with challenges based on operating results,” said Bruce Judson, a senior faculty fellow at the Yale School of Management who is running the program. “Our curriculum already places a high emphasis on analysis, planning, and finding opportunities ”“ which are the essence of startups. We wanted this course to emphasize the steps after the business plan.”
Applications, which are being considered on a rolling basis, can be initiated at http://mba.yale.edu/news_events/clinic.shtml.
