The 2012 Travelers Championship generated more than $1 million for charity, including commitments from the Hartford-based Travelers Cos. Inc.
On Sunday, Australian Marc Leishman won the Travelers at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, shooting 14 under par to win the $1.1 million purse. The win marked Leishman’s first on the PGA Tour.
The Travelers contributes 100 percent of net proceeds to more than 100 local charities including The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which provides camp experience and medical teams for children suffering from cancer and other serious diseases.
The 2013 Travelers Championship will be held June 17-23 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.
