The Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, a part of Bridgeport Hospital and the Yale New Haven Health System, has received an $85,000 grant from the William Raveis Foundation, the hospital recently announced.
The center, in Fairfield, will use the grant to help individuals with a cancer diagnosis access services at the cancer center.
Patients will have access to services regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. The grant will also be put toward navigator services, which help women negotiate and receive coordinated care.
“The grant from William Raveis Foundation will help patients receive coordinated care and support for all aspects of the breast cancer journey,” said Dr. Donna Twist, executive director of breast care center, in a statement. “This is so important to the successful treatment of breast cancer.”
The Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center was founded in 1999 and provides treatment and care at both its Fairfield location on Beach Road and at Bridgeport Hospital.
William Raveis Real Estate’s breast cancer fund program raises and donates money annually to local and national cancer programs.
“We are so thrilled to be able to support the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center this year,” said Meghan Raveis, managing director of the charitable fund.
