Perimter eSecurity buys USA.Net

Following a $50 million financing package from Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Perimeter eSecurity has acquired USA.Net for an undisclosed amount.

USA.Net hosts e-mail systems. The Colorado Springs company was founded in 1991 and was acquired in 2000 by GE Capital and two other investors.

Perimeter eSecurity runs computer network security systems. To support the deal, the Milford company is receiving an undisclosed additional amount of funding from Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Ventures and the Stripes Group L.L.C.
