Webloyalty.com of Norwalk has opened a new office in Paris a year after its London office made its debut.
“Webloyalty carefully selects locations for new offices where we see active and engaged online communities of merchants and consumers,” said Rick Fernandes, CEO and co-founder of Webloyalty.
The company generates new revenues for its clients by finding ways to reward customers who make purchases.
“The European online industry is exploding,” said Fernandes. “We want to be there and we want our clients to reap the benefits.”
According to Fernandes, France was a natural choice for a second European office, though it is not the last of the European offices planned for the future.
The administration of French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been noted as being particularly friendly toward American commerce.
“French e-commerce sales grew 34 percent from 2006 to 2007 according to ACSEL, the French e-commerce association,” said Andrew Buckman, managing director of WL France SAS.
In the “Trends 2008: European E-Commerce and Online Retail” report, France was found to be an area of high growth.
Growing domestically as well this summer, Webloyalty acquired Loyalty Ventures, a Califonia-based technology and services company.
Webloyalty was founded in 1999 and employs 160 people in Norwalk and 460 worldwide.
